Topics to be introduced include microstates, entropy, partition functions, free energy and various ensemble formalisms. These tools will be used to calculate thermodynamic and equilibrium properties of both classical and quantum mechanical systems from the ideal gas, to ferromagnetism, to Bose-Einstein condensation.Number of Positions (est): 1Course Enrolment (est): 30TA Support (est): Dependent on enrollment.Delivery Method: In-person synchronous.Class schedule: For the most up-to-date course timetable and delivery methods, please visit UTM timetable planner: .Dates of appointment: 06 January 2025 to 30 April 2025.Salary: Sessional Lecturer I: $9457.90, including vacation pay.
