Sessional Lecturer: CTL7016H – Integrating Technology into the Classroom: Issues and Activities (LEC 0232)Course number and title: CTL7016H – Integrating Technology into the Classroom: Issues and Activities (LEC 0232)Course description: This course deals with the use of computer technology in schools as tools for students in curricula other than computer studies. The role that technology can play in school restructuring is examined. Also included is a discussion of issues related to responsible use, teacher training, and classroom implementation, and the ways in which technology applications can influence the curriculum content and process. The major emphasis is on determining the specific education need (of students, teachers, curriculum objectives or subject area) that computer technology can meet. This course is normally open only to students in the Teaching program.Estimated TA support: NoEstimated course enrolment: 35Class schedule: Online AsynchronousSessional dates of appointment: 2025-05-01 – 2025-06-30Appointment percentage: 100Salary: Minimum stipend as of May 1, 2024 is $9,457.90 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage.Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should possess a doctoral degree and relevant experiences in K-12 settings in a relevant discipline as well as demonstrated currency and mastery of subject area. Mastery and currency may be demonstrated but not limited to scholarly publications establishing expertise in the area.Candidates should demonstrate

  • Expertise of teaching in an online learning environment
  • Expertise of content knowledge including knowledge related to a range of current practices and issues related to assistive technology, online learning, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies as well as instruction related to skills development as related to practical classroom applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of equity, diversity and inclusion required.
  • An Ontario Teaching Certificate is an asset.
