Course description:
This course invites students to explore, analyze and compare educational themes and topics within a global context. Using leading frameworks of transformative change, students develop knowledge, apply critical thinking, practice cultural proficiency and empathy as they conduct a comparative analysis of teaching and learning models in both an international and local setting.

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025
Salary:
Sessional Lecturer I – $9,457.90 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $9,930.79 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer II – $10,121.77 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10,326.62 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer III – $10,362.76 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $10,570.02 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in Education or a closely related field is required, with research expertise in international or comparative education.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience teaching this course, or a similar course at the university level, is preferred.
Experience teaching internationally and/or within the public school board within the GTA is an asset.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
Description of duties:
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours; development, administration and marking of assignments,tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; order all necessary readings; supervising TAs (if any) assigned to the course.
