Sessional Lecturer – HIS344H1S Global Cold WarCourse Description:
This course examines the Cold War through its global dimensions, going beyond the American-Soviet bipolar rivalry to explore the impact of the Cold War in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Students will work closely with original primary sources and interrogate historical interpretations of the Cold War through different regional and thematic perspectives.Minimum qualifications:
Master of Arts in History or related field required. Mastery of the subject area as related to the course descriptionPreferred qualifications:
PhD in History preferred. Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching.Description of duties:
Developing syllabus; course preparation; Teaching one two-hour classes weekly, in-person lectures; Marking; Supervision of TA(s) in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement; Conducting scheduled office hours (1 hour/week)Duties of this position shall be performed at the campus on which the position is located.Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026Estimated Course Enrolment: 140
