Course Number and the Title: ENT392H1F – Creating New Ventures 

Course description:

This experiential learning course allows students to explore the inner working of their new ventures. The majority of the course consists of activities applying entrepreneurial concepts within the student’s own venture, with oversight from the Centre for Entrepreneurship. In-class activities facilitate the application of entrepreneurial tools to develop the students’ entrepreneurial skills. Note: students in the program must apply to be considered for participation in this course. 

Estimated course enrolment: 30 Students

Class schedule: In-person, Tuesdays 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, plus weekly office hours. 

Please note, the delivery method for this course is in-person. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Centre. 

Sessional dates of appointment: January 01, 2025 – April 30, 2025 

Salary: 

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90 

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,930.80 

Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77 

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,326.62 

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76 

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,570.02 

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. 

Minimum Qualifications: Masters or MBA (or equivalent level of business knowledge). a background in teaching and applying Lean LaunchPad methodology, and who have previous experience teaching an equivalent course to students from a variety of academic disciplines at the University level. 

Preferred Qualifications: PhD preferred. Successful completion of the Lean LaunchPad Educators Course is an asset. Applicants may be asked to supply a proposed course outline and / or references. Experience with course management tools University of Toronto or similar online systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.) not required but is an asset. 

Description of duties: 

This course is currently planned for in-person delivery in the Winter 2025 term. All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including: administering course in accordance with university regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook for Instructors; delivering lectures; developing syllabus and marking scheme; setting and invigilating term tests and final assessment; marking and reporting final grades; availability in office hours for academic counselling of students.
