Faculty of InformationSessional LecturerFall Term 2024 (September – December)INF3902/3H – Co-operative Workplace Placement II/IIICourse Description: INF3902H (Co-operative Workplace Placement II) / INF3903H (Co-operative Workplace Placement III) is worth 0.5 FTE and unfolds in the summer following a student’s first year in the program. It comprises the student’s 4 month work placement in their field of interest/concentration, and the completion of a number of deliverable throughout that placement.Workplace-integrated-learning is the umbrella term used to describe educational experiences that combine periods of in-class study with actual workplace experiences. Examples of workplace-integrated learning include internships, practicums, and co-operative education.As the name suggests, co-operative education describes the three way partnership that is established through negotiation, contractual agreements, and ongoing communication between the student, the employer and the university.Estimate of the course enrolment: 140Estimate of TA Support: Estimate of 75 hours with enrollment of 36 or greater. Allocation of TA hours, if any, will be based on enrolment numbers.Class Schedule: TBD. You are required to be located in geographical proximity to the applicable University premises in order to attend and perform your duties on University premises as of the Starting Date.Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024Salary:
Sessional Lecturer I: $10,300
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,764
Sessional Lecturer II $11,021
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $11,227
Sessional Lecturer III: $11,279
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,485Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Qualifications: Preferably candidates will have a completed, or nearly completed, PhD degree in an area related to the course or a Master’s degree plus extensive professional experience in an area related to the course.
