Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Position: Sessional Lecturer I (1 position available)Course title and code: APS1024H – Infrastructure Resilience PlanningCourse description: Planning for resilience is a fundamental of strategic and operational planning of infrastructure and requires an in-depth understanding of the operation one wishes to make resilient, its context and operating environment. This course teaches resilience planning from first principles, including the development and application of international and Canadian infrastructure resilience and investment policy, demand and dependency management, all-hazards and mitigation strategies and its relationship to Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning.Estimated Enrolment: Approximately 25 studentsEstimated TA support: TBAClass schedule: Timetable to be determined.Salary: Minimum level of pay is $9,457.89 (Sessional Lecturer I), which includes vacation pay, and may increase depending on applicant’s level of experience and suitability for the position.Qualifications: Applicants must have extensive experience in the area of infrastructure planning and design, with a strong understanding of the components involved in the building of an operational resilience concept and plan. The applicant must have knowledge of the capability requirements of various security systems, as well as an understanding of the concept, technology, and practice of control systems. Applicants must also have a thorough understanding of the nature of resilience, the drivers of resilience, how it differs from protection, and how it relates to sustainable economic development.
