It will cover topics that include the periodic properties of the elements, the structures, bonding and properties of main group compounds and transition metal complexes, inorganic solid-state materials, and solid-state chemistry with applications in advanced technologies. A strong emphasis on developing laboratory techniques and communication skills is made through the practical component of the course. CHM237H1 is strongly recommended for students exploring experimental synthetic chemistry as part of their degree program.Estimated TA support: 280 hoursEstimated course enrolment: 40 studentsIn-person class schedule: Tuesday, and Wednesday (9:00 – 1:00 pm)*Please note, that the delivery method for this course is currently 100% in-person. Experience lecturing and/or coordinating laboratories in inorganic chemistry at the university level will be preferred.Description of duties: The Department of Chemistry requires a sessional lecturer to coordinate in-person laboratories in CHM237H1 (Introductory Inorganic Chemistry II) during the 2025 Summer session.
