Designing for reliability and determination of optimal maintenance and replacement policies for both capital equipment and components. Topics include: identification of an items failure distribution and reliability function, reliability of series, parallel, and redundant systems design configurations, time-to-repair and maintainability function, age and block replacement policies for components, the economic life model for capital equipment, provisioning of spare parts.Estimated course enrolment (approximately): 70Estimated TA support: TBDClass schedule: Lecture Tuesday 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM; Friday 10:00 AM – 11:00 AMSessional dates of appointment: January to April 2025Salary: $13,000 (per half course inclusive of vacation pay) Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum qualifications: Applicants should have a strong record of presenting lectures or acting as a teaching assistant. Applicants must be able to demonstrate considerable depth of knowledge and experience in the subject area. All applicants should have excellent communication skills – both oral and written. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited License (LEL) is strongly preferred.
