In a seminar/lecture format students will engage with the range of plans, policies, guidelines and practices that are the context for the processes that characterize contemporary city building. During the term, students will have opportunities to engage with the dynamics surrounding growth that is occurring in this context through: in class lectures; directed reading and research; meetings with individuals involved in proposing and planning for development; attendance at public meetings; and individual or group seminar/presentations to the on relevant selected topics.Class Schedule:L0101 – Monday 6:00pm – 9:00pmSessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 16 students per sectionSalary: Sessional Lecturer I – $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II – $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III – $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch or MUD degree or professional urban design experience preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching urban design and planning course content at the graduate-level.
