Course Code and Title: PLID74H3 – Language and Aging
Course Description: A seminar-style course on language and communication in healthy and language-impaired older adults. The course covers normal age-related neurological, cognitive, and perceptual changes impacting language, as well as language impairments resulting from dementia, strokes, etc. Also discussed are the positive aspects of aging, bilingualism, ecologically valid experimentation, and clinical interventions.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate Degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Speech Language Pathology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Gerontology, Health Sciences, or a related field of study. Strong academic record and professional promise. Teaching experience is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those with a background in SLP or Linguistics as course must be taught from a Linguistic, Psycholinguistic, or SLP perspective.
Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.

Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $9,930.79
Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,326.62
Sessional Lecturer III $10,362.76
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $10,570.01.
