Course Description: This course covers selected topics pertaining to higher cognitive processes including expertise, consciousness, creativity, and human and artificial intelligence.Prerequisites: PSY201H5 (or equivalent) and PSY270H5 Exclusions: PSY371H1Estimated course enrolment: 65Estimated TA Support: 55 hours (total number of assigned hours is dependent on course enrolment and course approval)Class schedule: Lecture – In Person: Tuesday 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024Salary: (In accordance with CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective):

  • $9,457.90 for Sessional Lecturer I
  • $9,930.79 for Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term
  • $10,121.77 for Sessional Lecturer II
  • $10,362.76 for Sessional Lecturer Ill

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Qualifications: The candidate must have a PhD degree or be in the final stages of a PhD. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications and suitability for the position.Description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course content; creation of course material, development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; the supervision of teaching assistants for leading tutorials and grading and marking student work; submission of final grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours for student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.Application instructions:
