Sheffield Communities Officer

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust

Are you interested in working with diverse communities to help nature thrive in the city?

We are recruiting for a Sheffield Communities Officer

This exciting new role will help us support, empower and network together individuals and
communities* to improve their local green spaces and neighbourhoods for wildlife and community.

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust have successfully secured a National Lottery Reaching
Communities grant to work with communities across Sheffield, to grow and develop a diverse and
inclusive city-wide movement that aims to protect and restore nature through collaboration,
learning and people power.

The project will build on the fantastic efforts of the many individuals, groups and
organisations that are already taking action for nature in the city. ‘Nature Recovery
Sheffield’ is the name being given to this movement.

The Sheffield Communities Officer will have a central role in supporting this movement by
delivering a range of activity strands.

*communities may include geographical and community of interest groups as well as constituted
organisations and companies, including neighbourhood groups, residents’ associations, schools,
youth groups, local businesses, faith groups etc).

This role will require an enhanced
disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.

This role is made possible with The National Lottery Community Fund. Thanks to National Lottery
players, we are able to support under-represented groups in increasing access to nature.
