Site Manager (Grow Wilder)

Could you manage and develop the abundant, inspiring and unique Grow Wilder urban centre in line with the site plan and Avon Wildlife Trust’s overarching strategy? Then we are looking for you……

Grow Wilder is Avon Wildlife Trust’s unique, nature-rich community hub and learning centre for Bristol. A six acre site, including a wildflower nursery and pop up cafe, where the Trust works in partnership with organisations and community groups to give people of all ages and backgrounds opportunities to connect with nature. Together we engage a diverse audience through food growing and nature activities in a safe and inspiring place, which delivers positive social impact.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative individual to manage and develop the site at Grow Wilder in line with the site strategy and Avon Wildlife Trust’s overarching strategy. Maximising the site’s potential to inspire and engage visitors, volunteers, the broader community, and land partners to take action for wildlife through wildlife-friendly habitat creation and food growing

If you have a passion for nature, habitats and the environment with a good understanding of site, people and landscapes then we’d love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for managing, developing and maintaining use of Grow Wilder’s site, for wildlife-friendly habitat creation, propagation and sale of wildflowers, and food growing, for the benefit of nature and overall biodiversity.

This role is 30 hours per week – 4 or 5 days out of 7

Avon Wildlife Trust is a charity working to protect and restore wildlife in Bristol, Bath and the West of England. We want to enable nature to recover on a grand scale, with more abundant wildlife in our cities and countryside. We work with schools and communities, landowners and volunteers, people of all ages and backgrounds – to develop wildlife-rich places and wildlife-rich lives. We create, connect and care for places rich in wildlife, champion the value of nature, and inspire people and communities to care for wildlife. The Trust has over 16,000 members, manages 31 nature reserves and educates 10,000 children a year.

Avon Wildlife Trust is an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to developing an inclusive and diverse organisation where everyone feels supported, valued, and able to be their full selves. To achieve our vision of seeing nature restored on a grand scale across the Avon region, we need talented and more diverse people on nature’s side. We have robust child safeguarding policies, and this role requires two references and an enhanced DBS check.
