- Deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons to Key Stages 4 and 5 students, focusing on developing a deep understanding of sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues.
- Plan and deliver lessons that encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, and a nuanced understanding of social diversity and inequality.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including essays, presentations, research projects, and class discussions, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging Sociology curriculum that reflects current social trends and ethical considerations.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as sociology clubs, debates, and community engagement projects, promoting student engagement and fostering a commitment to social justice.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate sociological perspectives into the wider curriculum.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Sociology or a related field.
- Experience teaching Sociology to Key Stages 4 and 5 students, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students in critical thinking and social analysis.
- A strong understanding of sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging young minds in complex social debates.
- A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education and the ability to integrate faith perspectives into the curriculum where appropriate.
