If you really want to make a difference – make it with us
Siemens Mobility is a separately managed company of Siemens AG and has been a leading supplier in the field of mobility for over 160 years. Our core business includes rail vehicles, rail automation and electrification solutions, turnkey systems and related services. We have always been very innovative in making traveling faster, safer and more comfortable. Today, we need new solutions to new challenges such as climate change and rising populations worldwide. That’s what drives us. That’s why we shape mobility with passion, always being one step ahead. Through digitalization, we make infrastructures smart and create opportunities that get us from A to B sustainably and seamlessly. Our 38,200 employees are pioneers in mobility who help to keep the world moving.
What do you contribute?
In our modern rail vehicles, smooth functioning of a wide variety of subsystems (e.g. passenger information, video surveillance, information and entertainment system) is necessary so that the overall system also functions without malfunction – as a software engineer (f/m/d) for integration, you will help to integrate, analyse and validate the solutions required for this.
To do this, you will integrate various software solutions into the train operator system (consisting, for example, of IP network, passenger information system, video surveillance, etc.).
You will plan and coordinate the integration tests.
You are the main contact person for the integration / development interface for our Commuter Rail projects.
You will validate the functionality of the train operator system on the basis of self-created, manual or automated test cases and evaluate the test results in the context of cross-system interfaces, including documentation in the test management system.
Furthermore, you will accompany the error analyses together with the development team on our laboratory test benches and directly on the vehicle.
What do you bring along?
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technical degree programme.
You already have several years of professional experience in the integration of heterogeneous IT/software systems, in test planning and test script automation (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.).
You have a good, comprehensive understanding of the architecture of Linux-based embedded systems and of Linux tools for software analysis and tracing.
Furthermore, you have basic knowledge of IP communication systems as well as embedded software and system architectures.
You have experience in working with cross-site teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
You have very good English skills, good German skills are a plus.
What do we offer you?
Career growth
We offer comprehensive training opportunities for your professional and personal development. With our Learning Campus, we have an in-house service provider with a wide range of online and offline training courses.
Attractive conditions
You will receive an attractive compensation package including the benefits of the collective bargaining agreement (e.g. additional pay and vacation pay) and other extras (e.g. corporate pension and shareholder program).
Mobile working /Remote working
With us, you will have the opportunity to work hybrid. This means that you can work remotely to a considerable extent. We have officially regulated this through a company agreement.
