Special Educational Needs TA – Barnet Primary School – September 2024Special Educational Needs Teaching AssistantLondon borough of BarnetFull-timeLong-term (at least an academic year)£85 – £100 per daySeptember 2024 startWe are looking for a Special Educational Needs TA with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs. The Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant role is due to commence in September 2024, at the start of the new academic year and the ideal candidate will be able to work until the end of the academic year, July 2025.About the Teaching Assistant Role:As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers, other Teaching Assistants, and SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide tailored support, create an inclusive learning environment, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.The ideal Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEND)

• Previous experience as a residential support/care worker

• Prior mentoring experience

• Teaching / Learning Support Assistant experience

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:Your role as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will include:

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs

• Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting their well-being and positive engagement in school activities

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected
