Your Responsibilities
What you’ll do
The successful applicant will initially be assigned to one of the Specialist areas of Biochemistry, which include Metabolic Chromatography, Trace Elements, LC-MS, and Endocrinology. You may be assigned to other parts of the Biochemistry laboratory as per service need.
The Specialist Sections perform a range of manual extractions by technologies including Electrophoresis, protein precipitation and solid phase extraction. Extracts are analysed using instrumentation including Siemens Immulite, Sebia Hydrasys, HPLC-ECD, GC-MS and LC-MS.
You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional expertise and quality, whilst delivering a high-quality, cost-effective service.
What we’re looking for
We are looking to appoint the successful candidate to band 6. You will need to:
- be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist
- have significant post registration experience.
- have experience in manual analytical techniques
- be an excellent communicator
- be well organised
- be enthusiastic and self-motivated
- be prepared to be challenged
- be passionate about Biochemistry
You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, with some weekend and bank holiday working.
