Specialist Dietitian (Haematology)

We have a rare but exciting opportunity for a full time fixed term Band 6 role specialising in Haematology at Southampton General. This post specialises in dietetic management of acute haematology patients and will include a new 18month project working as the dietetic representative within the specilist MDT to improve outcomes in frail patients with lymphoma. The post covers a variety of settings including the bone marrow transplant unit, haematology wards, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Our Oncology unit is one of 12 regional cancer centres in the UK, serving a population of approx 1.7million. We have a large radiotherapy unit with 6 linear accelerators, 6 oncology inpatient wards, acute oncology unit, chemotherapy units, Macmillan centre and multiple outpatient clinics. Southampton is a leading centre for cancer research and clinical trials.  

Patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy for haematological malignancy or transplantation are managed in a 21 bed specialist unit.
