B6 Physiotherapist – Medical Wards
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced physiotherapist to join the medicine team at UHS.  We have an exciting opportunity for a static Band 6 Physiotherapist who will have the opportunity to work within our diverse, enthusiastic and motivated team at UHS. The role will offer excellent opportunities for personal and professional development within Medicine and throughout the Trust.


About the Team

Our integrated therapy team cover a diverse range of wards including a Respiratory High Dependency Unit (RHDU); where the physiotherapists take a lead with complex non-invasive ventilation (NIV), tracheostomy weaning programmes and disharge planning; and respiratory medicine; hepatology; renal and general medicine wards.  Our therapy team is a valued part of an expansive MDT, priding itself in delivering patient centred care. The entire MDT strives to be at the forefront of innovation and development. 

Main duties of the job

To be based within the medicine footprint, covering an extensive range of patient presentations including gastroenterology, hepatology, general medicine and respiratory.  To perform expert assessments; formulate treatment plans and goal setting with a highly diverse range of patients.

To work closely with specialised MDTs including Intensive Care and Respiratory Outpatients; to allow for the seamless care of patients and successful transitions from the hyper acute to the home setting.

To be extensively involved in training and development.  This may involve members of the therapy team but also members of the MDT and patients/carers.
