The Specialist, Project Management will ensure efficiency, cost containment, and customer satisfaction.On a typical day you will:Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsure flawless execution of each project by completing on schedule, within budget, and meets all technical & safety standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and customer expectationsCoordinate all contract activities from the project award stage to completion of the elevator and escalator installation and provide a progress review of projects to ensure that contract documents are consistent with the required scope of the projectProactively communicate with multiple representatives including general contractors, owners, building managers, architects and designers, State and Local authorities and regulatory agencies concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of installation for the equipmentAbility to work closely with the internal sales staff, construction superintendents, and senior leadership to ensure a successful project from both the financial and customer perspectivesPerform construction process duties including managing billing, consultant and contractors’ payments, processing RFIs and optimizing change order opportunities, as well as maximizing project cash coverageAccurately interpret construction contractual documents and contract modifications to determine cost of such changeRead and review architectural and structural drawingsAccurately analyze situations and assist in developing contingencies for estimatesWhat you will need to be successful:Education / CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferredBasic QualificationsAbility to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environmentCandidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customersNeeds to be self-motivated and able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilitiesSuccessful candidate should be very comfortable in a technical environment utilizing Microsoft based computer softwareStrong leadership skills and goal-orientated with strong time management and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 2-3 years related project management and/or construction experience preferredKnowledge of the principals of cost estimating, scheduling, and contract administration desiredOtis is the world’s largest elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service business.
