What Agile contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Agile is responsible for leading, planning and implementing new ways of working for our business development teams centered on agile and DevSecOps practices. This includes creating, training and coaching of standard work practices and learning, implementing and reinforcing these practices toward the goal of greater business agility. This position will be the ATF for two software team squad, one for the Genesys platform and one for the Verint platform.
Responsibilities
Guide the team and organization on how to adopt agile practices and values to delight customers
Coach the team in self-organization, cross-functionality and Team Based Solutioning (TBS)
Coach the team and stakeholders to understand and embrace empirical product development
Protect the autonomy of the team, allowing for self-organization without outside influence
Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
Support and educate the Product Owner, especially on value management practices for effective Product Backlog refinement & prioritization practices
Build trust and a safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Observe team interactions, and call out observations as an opportunity for feedback and learning (as appropriate)
Encourage and enable open and honest communication among the team members, including the Product Owner
Facilitate the assessment of team maturity and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style, and leading by example
Work with other Agile Team Facilitator(s) to increase the effectiveness of agile adoption within Cardinal Health
Qualifications
8-12 years of experience as a member of a software development team, preferred
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
2+ years of experience working as an agile coach/scrum master preferred
BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred. Advance Degree may be required
First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) preferred
Experience as the Scrum Master coaching a development team that was diligently applying agile values, principles, and practices in the timely delivery of software that brought meaningful business value
Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: tracking and reporting team performance metrics, burn up/ burn down techniques, numerous retrospective formats, etc.)
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Proficient JIRA skills; including working knowledge of JQL, dashboards, etc.
Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills

Independently determines method for completion of new projects
Receives guidance on overall project objectives
Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
Anticipated salary range: $119,800 – $171,100
