Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat You’ll Be DoingReporting to Director Finance, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible to ensure the integrity of financial results, provide consolidated reporting, analyze and interpret information and identify financial risks and opportunities related to the Purpose, Brand and Corporate Affairs SBU. This position is also responsible for end to end Project finance support, including month end close, management reporting and forecasting/planning. Working with business partners, project managers, and finance this individual will provide value-added financial analysis, advice, and guidance aimed at providing decision enablement to senior management. This includes highlighting potential issues/problems and recommending solutions, effectively supporting cost reductions and process improvements, business case reviews and analysis, as well as advising on how the business may improve efficiency and financial performance. This individual ensures that financial standards and CIBC policies are implemented and adhered to in terms of integrity, consistency, and accuracy.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How You’ll Succeed

  • Problem solving and analytical skills – You have the ability to acquire necessary information to provide value-added advisory services to internal business partners including analysis and recommendations of DOE and Project results. Throughout these activities you will identify potential issues/problems and provide timely solutions.
  • Technical skills – Knowledge of finance and accounting, projects, PMLEs, CIBC’s capitalization policy, Business Cases (PFRs), excellent Excel and Essbase skills including knowledge of CIBC financial systems and applications used (OnePlan, GLDM etc.). High degree of knowledge of financial/management accounting and reporting as well as forecasting and planning processes.
  • Communication skills – Excellent ability to prepare and present financial information effectively articulating issues/recommendations via your analysis and assessment of financial results. You will maintain a close working relationship with your business partners.
  • Provide advice and service – Meet regularly with Business, Business Management Office, Project Managers, Project Management Office, and Senior leaders including Executives to explain financial performance, present financial status, forecasts and analysis. Analyze results with full understanding of the business operations, provide a view of issues, insights and recommendations to ensure leadership has a full understanding of costs and forecasts and provide advice to support continuous improvement.
