The University is currently implementing Tribal SITS student records system.  The post holder will support and contribute to the configuration and development of SITS and lead the efficient and effective support and maintenance of SITS and eVision ensuring incidents and service requests are proactively managed.  The post holder will also lead on SITS upgrades, patches, and improvements.  The support and configuration of SITS requires the ability to understand academic processes, programme and award frameworks and academic regulations.

This position is entitled to a market supplement of £8386, to be reviewed every two years.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another.  There will be a requirement to attend Campus two days per week.  However, subject to this with Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

About You

To be successful you will need experience of hands-on configuration and support of Tribal SITS and e-Vision.  This should include high level of Structured Query Language (SQL) competency.  You will also need experience in configuring SRL’s, creating SITS e:Vision Tasking, and creating SITS e:Vision Vistas.  You will also need a good understanding of SITS data structures, experience of developing web services and of HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript and JQuery.  Knowledge and experience of XML and JSON would be an advantage and of creating SITS StuTalk interfaces and / or data migration.  Knowledge of academic processes, programme and award frameworks and academic regulations would also help.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to Degree level or relevant experience demonstrating competence and progression in similar IT related roles

Desirable:

  • Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate or equivalent
  • Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA Databases and/or Networking) certification or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation Certified
  • PRINCE2 Foundation Certified

IT Services

The Student Records Systems Team is part of the Applications Services Team in IT Services which is also made up of Business and Estates Systems Team, Academic Services Team, and Data Architecture.
