A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, California.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for:

• Auditing and posting weekly sales to the general ledger including working with IT to ensure all sales are accounted for.

• Prepare general ledger entries, reconciliations for month-end close relating to lease accounting for over 560 stores (ASC 842, excess rent, prepaid cam and taxes), provide analysis on fluctuations from the month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons.

• Prepare month end journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounts including prepaids, accruals, fixed assets and cash.

• Review various expense accounts to categorize spend and provide explanations of large variances on month-over-month or year-over-year basis.

• Perform Cash disbursement Store audits on a monthly basis to ensure disbursements are recorded appropriately.

• Assist with fixed asset closing including invoice and expense review to determine if charges should be capitalized based on GAAP and Company policy perspective.

• Working collaboratively with other departments.

The qualified candidate has:

• A Bachelor’s or higher degree required with a concentration in Accounting preferred.

• Prior ASC 842 and monthly closing experience is highly desired but not required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Applications.

• Multi-unit retail and SAP working knowledge preferred.
