Make your mark by shaping the future to enable or deliver life-changing science to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges.We are recruiting a Staff Scientist for Dr Raheleh Rahbari in CASM Programme at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.About The RoleYou will play a crucial role in advancing and delivering a collaborative research projects focused on the comparative analyses of somatic mutational patterns in primates across lifespans. This laboratory and computational-based position will involve the generation and analysis of high-quality data, including histological processing, laser capture microdissection (LCM), NanoSeq whole-genome and targeted sequencing, and long-read sequencing. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, scientific leadership, and the ability to manage and mentor a multidisciplinary research team.About YouYou will collaborate closely with external partners and institutions, contribute to data analysis and interpretation, and play a key role in manuscript preparation and publication to disseminate the research findings of the scientific outcomes comprehensively.Essential Technical Skills And Experience

• PhD in Biological Sciences or equivalent relevant laboratory/research experience
• Significant experience in scientific research roles
• High proficiency in genetics and molecular biology techniques, including long-read sequencing
• Expertise in data analysis and integration across multiple biological datasets
• Experience in writing scientific publications

About UsThe Cancer, Ageing and Somatic Mutation Programme pioneers data aggregation and informatics innovation, develops high-throughput cellular models of cancer for genome-wide functional screens and drug testing, and explores basic scientific questions about the role somatic mutation plays in clonal evolution, ageing and development.
