We take our responsibility seriously as we use technology to help our customers make important, sometimes life changing decisions.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Ship high quality, impactful, features for a growing and dynamic set of customersLeverage the the data and technical resources of Canada’s biggest bank to build a first in class experienceBe a key member of an agile scrum team coordinating with product and design counterparts to create and test new features to best serve our consumers needs and wantsContinuously advocate and build robust products to capitalize on dynamic business opportunitiesBe thoughtful and advocate for our customers at every opportunityWork with counterparts to establish and uphold an engineering culture of autonomy, creativity, and open feedback to allow continuous improvementMentor and be mentored by everyone around you to maintain a modern software environmentWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must haveSuccessful completion of solutions in JVM-based languages (Kotlin preferred) as well as PythonStrong experience with technologies such as message queues, kubernetes, terraform, SQL and no-SQL datastore, and cachingProven track record delivering solutions to complex problems such as identity, search, and empowering engineering teams through building platformsDeep experience with cloud infrastructure, continuous deployments, and AWS or similar technologyDemonstrated ability to work closely with development and product teams to brainstorm, design, and implement new featuresNice-to-have:Demonstrated ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makersExperience maintaining and evolving a high bar for technical best practicesExcellent and empathetic English written and verbal communication skills.RBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
