Our aspiration is to bring the best minds together, to provide them with world-leading tools and resources and a unique structure that fosters real agility and entrepreneurial spirit.About this role:We have an exciting opportunity for Statistical Scientist to join our new hub Data Science team in the UK to work within our established Data Science division on a global scale alongside over 200 team members internationally.You will be responsible for leading statistics for early or late phase study development within Oncology, but you will also get the opportunity to work on other clinical trial/studies, with the wider team.Hybrid WorkingAt Astellas we recognize the importance of balancing your work and home life, so we offer a hybrid working solution allowing time to connect with colleagues in person at the office alongside the flexibility to work from home; optimizing the most productive work environment for you to succeed and deliver.Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proven experience in applying statistical methods in biomedical research, Pharma, CRO, Academia or Healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development, focusing on clinical study activities such as protocol and statistical analysis plan development in addition to analysis and reporting of studies
  • Hands-on programming experience within SAS, including data manipulation and analysis of a wide array of data sources/types. In addition, working knowledge of R is preferred.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with the other Data Science and Medical & Development functions on global scale.
  • Ability to identify and implement new ideas and methodologies, learn new techniques, and adjust to new approaches quickly.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education/Qualifications:

  • PhD or M.S in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related scientific field.

Additional information:

  • The is a permanent full-time position based in the UK.
  • We offer a hybrid working pattern, requiring one day per quarter in the office (Addlestone), blended with a collaborative video environment that supports working from home.
