This may include potential re-purposing or co-purposing opportunities, as well as divestment of non-core assets for re-development by suitable owners.Join us and let’s grow together.Strategic Advisor, Legacy AssetsKey Responsibilities:Seeking out and executing on opportunities related to our legacy properties and assets, ensuring a sustainable environmental, social and economic legacy after mine closure. This may include, but is not limited to, potential re-purposing or co-purposing opportunities, as well as divestment of non-core assets for re-development by suitable owners. The Strategic Advisor will play a key role in identifying and developing these opportunities review and decision making.Your Main Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for fostering internal and external collaboration on the advancement of strategic business initiatives. This includes developing external relationships with potential counterparties on various forms of transactions.
- Draw upon available support from a cross-functional team of operations, technical, finance and legal to progress potential opportunities to a go/no go decision point.
- Develop comprehensive market and financial analyses to support business cases.
- Stay abreast of government incentives, technological advancements, and industry best practices to propose innovative solutions for sustainable renewable energy and mining and other post-industrial co-purposing opportunities in relevant jurisdictions.
- Assist in the preparation of grant or subsidy applications where applicable.
- Develop strategies for potential value generating opportunities and for the divestment of non-strategic assets.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations, articulating insights, findings, and strategic recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate the development of technical data rooms.
- Management of external consultants, as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, renewable energy or a relevant mining-related field of study.
- Minimum five to seven years of relevant experience in:
- Business development or corporate development in mining, heavy industry, oil & gas or other comparable context
- Business & Financial analysis
- M&A diligence and execution support
- Stakeholder relations
- Knowledge of business evaluation/due diligence processes as well as standard contractual structures
- The ability to interpret geological data, energy potential and/or government policy
- Strong analytic skills
- Communication skills in both English and French preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- A valid driver’s license
- Highly developed interpersonal savvy and influencing skills, organizational agility and drive for results.
