It is home to around 900 undergraduates, taught postgraduate and PhD students with an increasing emphasis on in person and online delivery of high-quality educational programmes. CIS is working closely with industry through a growing portfolio of education and knowledge exchange projects supported by the Scottish Funding Council Innovation Centres, like the DataLab and the Digital Health and Care Institute and Innovate UK.The opportunityWe seek to recruit an energetic, highly motivated scholar who will contribute to join our Artificial Intelligence (AI) research group in CIS. The candidate the research, teaching, and administrative activities of the school in the MSc and PhD programs. This application is open to all to any candidate who has an excellent track record of research in (but not limited to) one of the following areas:– Computer vision– Deep learning– Large language models/Applied NLP– AI for healthcare– AI in animal health– AI planning & multi-agent optimisation– Causality and its applications– AI for telecommunications– Interactive intelligenceCandidates will be expected to demonstrate significant promise in their research discipline with a record of achievement in their career to date and demonstrate an ability to attract research funding. They will have ambitious academic goals and an understanding of how to bring in the grant income required to fund those goals. The appointee will be expected to contribute to the Department’s Undergraduate and Masters programmes.
