Job Description:Grade UE06: £33,882 – £39,105 per annumSchool of Biological Sciences / College of Sciences and EngineeringFull Time: 35 hours per weekFixed Term: for 12 months (maternity cover)The School of Biological Sciences – Biology Teaching Organisation (BTO) invites applications for a full time Student Adviser. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and welcoming team of staff providing support to students across the full student life cycle.This post is fixed term (12 months) and full-time (35 hours per week). Student Advisers in the School of Biological Sciences support mainly campus-based students, so requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis, a mix of remote and regular on-campus working) are typically limited to 1 day a week from home.The Opportunity:Student Advisers provide a first contact point for students within the School, providing guidance and support, including additional assistance where needed, to those navigating the University support systems. Working closely with academic and professional services teams, the role will enable students to achieve their potential, as well as ensure parity of experience for all students. The role encompasses pastoral support and administrative work.The post holder will have a strong commitment to the delivery of outstanding customer service with excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills. They will be self-motivated and be able to manage multiple competing demands and deadlines. An ability to use initiative and be proactive is also essential.Your skills and attributes for success:
