Our Student Well-being team offers comprehensive information, guidance, counselling, and support to the Aston University student body, proactively fostering mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being within our diverse community.We are seeking a Student Well-being Chaplaincy Coordinator to assist the Head of Student Well-being in leading a skilled team of professional chaplains and developing strategic initiatives for the University’s Chaplaincy Well-being Service. This role includes close collaboration with other service leads to integrate and enhance student support services.In this role, you will manage and assist our Chaplains, providing essential services to students and staff, including spiritual guidance, risk assessment, counsel, well-being activities, psycho-educational programs, and collaborative decision-making. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, upholding service standards, and fostering a culture of well-being across the University.As an integral member of the Chaplaincy team and Student Life, you will offer pastoral care and mentorship to students and staff, contributing to the Martin Luther King Multi-faith Centre team. You will work directly with a caseload of students, helping them develop skills, overcome barriers, and set personal goals to improve their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. You will also design and promote activities that raise awareness of key wellness themes throughout the student life-cycle. This position reports to the Head of Student Well-being.Additionally, you will take on the line management of our Chaplains and provide valuable administrative support to the Martin Luther King Multi-Faith Centre users, assisting the Head of Student Well-being in Chaplaincy service development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offering brief spiritual and emotional support in higher education or a similar environment, with a dedication to actively engaging in service growth and supporting senior leadership.Our Chaplaincy support model is rooted in culturally sensitive, anti-oppressive, holistic principles, emphasizing individualized care and proactive engagement with diversity, race, and equality.The salary being offered for this role is below the minimum threshold for required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker route.
