Job Overview:The Co-op student will support the KDP legal team on a wide variety of matters related to the legal support of KDP’s consumer packaged goods business with an emphasis on contract review and negotiation and legal research. The successful candidate will have significant interaction with business partners and legal team members, so the candidate must possess strong legal skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mentality.
Total Rewards:

• Assist with drafting and analysis of client contracts in the commercial, product supply, marketing, procurement, EHS, R&D, HR and Talent Acquisition space.
• Research legal issues to assist guidance of internal clients on legal and operational issues associated with client agreements such as Litigation, IT security, data privacy, regulatory compliance and employment/labor considerations.
• Attend internal client meetings and external client negotiations, as necessary and requested.
• Complete other duties as required based on business and legal needs which may include lending support and gaining exposure in the areas of new product development and design, software development and protection of intellectual property rights, global data privacy and security, regulatory compliance under state, federal and international laws, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, employment/labor law, litigation management, and procurement.

Specific Job Requirements:

• Strong willingness to learn and gain exposure to a variety of issues, including contract negotiation, intellectual property, technology, data privacy/security, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and litigation
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and accept accountability for results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with business partners and members of the legal team
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize work without supervision (but be willing to raise questions or issues when needed), and effectively manage a large variety and number of matters.
