Your Opportunity:The mission of the Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP) is to improve health by providing outstanding clinical, education, research, and leadership services Reporting directly to the Clinical Services Manager and working closely with the Division Director/AHS Clinical Section Chief, the Clinical services Supervisor is accountable for the quality of deliverables including physician clinical workforce coordination and leading medical secretary staff in subspecialty clinics in the Department of Surgery and Neurosurgery within the Edmonton Zone.Description:The Clinical Services Supervisor works under minimal supervision and is responsible for all aspects of managing the support staff including execution the terms of collective agreement, all Human Resources aspect of their area (recruitment, training, mentoring, development, performance management, workload assignments, etc.), strategic planning, office space and office equipment. The Clinical Services Supervisor directly supervises administrative positions in a complex technical clinic environment with very high volumes which is subject to frequent change and shifting priorities. Works with the Leadership Team to facilitate and participate in the implementation of changes to the structure and processes to accomplish and improve outcomes for the Department. The Clinical Services Supervisor must monitor, assess, and reallocate assignments on an ongoing basis to ensure that quality of patient care is consistently maintained. This position serves as the first point of contact for issues and concerns fielded by Medical Secretaries as conveyed by clinical service providers, patients and/or families.

Required Qualifications:A postsecondary degree – Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Medical Office Administration certification with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting is required. High proficiency in a Windows computer environment required; advanced Outlook skills are a must.
