JOB SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient managing processes in the supply chain department, purchase, storage, and distribution of goods within the organization.
This position involves managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and maintaining proper documentation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Procurement:
- Clear understanding of procurement policy and assist in advising program and office management on required procurement practices and procedures
- Ensure appropriate use of procurement limits and approved procedures.
- Work closely with the procurement team, identify gaps in the procurement system, and suggest improvements
- Adhere to timelines and budget requirements for planned or new operations (data, cross-border procurement).
- Assist in designing and reviewing tendering procedures in Syria.
- Collect bids from potential vendors for all operational and program operations in Syria.
- Procure goods while ensuring optimum price and quality in the market.
- Archive procurement department documents.
- Conduct market assessments when required.
- Travel is required to suit work requirements.
- Report regularly to the SYR / TR Supply chain coordinator.
- Any other relevant duties as requested by the Supervisor.
- Warehousing and Inventory Management
Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to prevent discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system.
- Enforce warehousing safety standards, including proper handling and segregation of goods.

Distribution And Logistics
- Logistics Planning:
- Develop distribution schedules and routes to ensure timely delivery to PHC centers and the facilities supported by MEDGLOBAL.
- Continuous roving between NWS areas in Syria.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements to maintain goods during transit based on its transportation terms.
- Tracking and Reporting:
- Track shipments and provide regular updates on distribution progress.
- Prepare reports on vaccine deliveries and inventory status for stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain (Procurement – Logistics).
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of humanitarian supply chain standards and local market conditions in Syria.
- Fluency in Arabic and intermediate level in English.
- Good skills in Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in conflict-affected settings.
