Organization:
Established in 2013, OUR Rescue (formerly Operation Underground Railroad) fights human trafficking and child sexual exploitation worldwide. We work with survivor service organizations, governments and law enforcement agencies globally to identify and prosecute traffickers, and to provide comprehensive, holistic care for survivors. We also educate and advocate for public involvement in our mission.
Basic Function:
The Survivor Care Regional Director is responsible for overseeing a regional team and implementing survivor care support within a geographic region. This role provides strategic leadership, develops relationships with key stakeholders in NGOs and government agencies across the region, and supports the Survivor Care Country Managers in implementing capacity-building activities and assisting survivors. Expectations include organizing and/or conducting training within your region, traveling based on vetting, training and technical assistance needs, submitting mission reports upon return, giving regular reports, and communicating objectives. The Regional Director reports to the Senior Vice President of Survivor Care.
Responsibilities:
- Assess strengths and gaps in survivor care resources within the region and identify potential opportunities for OUR Rescue to positively influence survivor healing and autonomy.
- Lead a team of Country Managers and Case Managers in developing and expanding effective survivor programs in the assigned region.
- Work with OUR Rescue leadership to assess potential OUR involvement in a new country within the region.
- Provide guidance and support to Country Managers in managing capacity-building activities and supervising Case Managers.
- Foster close relationships and collaboration between staff in Survivor Care and Operations programs.
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with NGOs, INGOs, and governments; maintain ongoing collaborative relationships at national and international levels.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and other projects in the Survivor Care department.
- Attend and present at national and international conferences.
- Participate in national and international task forces, work groups, and committees.
- Advocate for OUR Rescue at national and international levels.
- Facilitate local and national training and technical assistance regarding various topics related to human trafficking; conduct training sessions as appropriate.
- Create project budgets related to funding requests while adhering to budget limits.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports of activities in the region to executive leadership and the OUR Rescue board. Provide data on program metrics and outcomes.
- Collect program information for OUR Survivor Care Impact Statements, including video content.
- Share appropriate stories with the social media/marketing team for public posting.
- Actively engage in Survivor Care webinars and keep the team updated with new verbiage or vetted practice changes.
- Contribute to Survivor Care brainstorming sessions, attend all OUR Survivor Care and company meetings, and fill in for department members as needed.
- Support and implement positive company culture and core values of OUR Rescue.
- Provide support to the Survivor Care team, and OUR leadership as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, human development, sociology, social work).
- 5-7 years of experience working with survivors of human trafficking/child sexual exploitation.
- Experience working in the non-profit space, with a clear understanding of trauma dynamics and a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
- Strong case management documentation skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office 365 knowledge and skills.
- Superior communication skills.
- Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, be resourceful, collaborative, and adaptable.
- Desire to learn and develop.
- Knowledge of and ability to stay up to date on current anti-trafficking nomenclature.
- Strong leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to find quality resources at little to no cost for survivors.
- Experience with database implementation and organization database information.
- Public speaking and presentation development.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
Requirements:
- Some night and weekend work is required.
- Some national and international travel is required; up to 10 days per month could be spent traveling.
- 40 hours a week.
- In-country residence in one of the countries included in the OUR region.
- Actively advocate for self-care and commit to the personal therapeutic requirement of at least twice per month.
- Follow Survivor Care procedures for interacting with survivors.
