Sustainability Advisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland’s Management Systems Team as a
Sustainability Advisor, preferably based at our Perth office.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Integrated Management System (IMS) Team and will
support the IMS Manager in the delivery of environmental management in relation to our ISO
14001 certification and support our drive towards Net Zero achievement.

The role includes:

  • To provide support and advice to employees on environmental management system matters.
  • Promote environmental best practice across our business processes.
  • Engage and collaborate with environmental stakeholders and regulators.
  • Liaise with contractors and specialist consultants to ensure timely completion of
    environmental deliverables.
  • Write reports which communicate environmental issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Input / review of environmental licences and permits, etc.
  • Planning and undertaking internal audits at BEAR depots and sites.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant degree relating to the environment.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing environmental management system documents and reports.
  • A strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental legislation.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal), strong team-working capabilities, and
    the ability to work independently and take responsibility for environmental management system
    requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a challenging workload which is subject to change at short notice.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Hold a full and current UK driving licence.
