Employee-owned businesses are known for being highly resilient, more profitable and more sustainable.KSR produces and disseminates high quality systematic reviews (SRs), meta-analyses, cost effectiveness analyses and health technology assessments (HTAs) for key commissioners including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), pharmaceutical companies, guideline developers, and health technology assessment agencies.The Role & ResponsibilitiesAn exciting opportunity for systematic reviewers, early career or more experienced, has arisen to join our highly specialised team, based at Escrick Business Park, near York. Here we bring together a dedicated team of systematic reviewers, information specialists, health economists, statisticians, and administrators supporting high profile healthcare decision making.As part of our team, you will develop within your role, contributing to the preparation and delivery of high quality SRs and HTAs to support evidence-based healthcare decision making. You will participate in all aspects of KSR’s core work to develop your skills as an independent research professional. The ideal candidate should be ambitious, motivated, and have a strong work ethic.Responsibilities:

  • Implementing all aspects of SRs and HTAs, e.g. protocol development, inclusion screening, data extraction, statistical analyses, and report writing.
  • Contributing to the development of proposals for funding of projects.
  • Participating in meetings with colleagues and/or commissioners to discuss projects.
  • Involvement in dissemination activities including preparing journal articles and representing KSR at conferences and meetings.
  • Attending seminars, training courses and other external events to keep in touch with developments in the field and enhance your core skills.
  • For more experienced systematic reviewers, training internal and external people in the conduct of systematic reviews.
  • Supporting the management team and colleagues with ad hoc requests relevant to the post.

People Specification:Essential

  • First degree, e.g. medicine, health sciences, health economics, or psychology
  • Quantitative skills, with a background in a medical or health-related or scientific discipline
  • Highly accurate and good attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs
  • For experienced systematic reviewers, relevant experience in preparing SRs and a working knowledge of statistical methods

Desirable

  • MSc, PhD or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of primary healthcare research and statistical methods used in HTA
  • For early career systematic reviewers, experience in preparing SRs
