We have an exciting opportunity for an HR/Payroll Systems Administrator to join us on a fixed term contract basis for one year to support our Business Partner, Systems with the day-to-day systems maintenance, testing and upgrades as appropriate. This is a key support role which will enable our team to push forward with some key tasks as we strive to work smarter.
This is a varied role which will provide you with experience across our HR and Payroll systems. One day you could be assisting with an HR/Payroll systems upgrades and another liaising with ICT in relation to a patch that is required through to helping to resolve issues with annual leave which has ended up in our error chain or raising systems related issues with any of our current suppliers (Zellis, GenTech or Hireserve).
Working closely with our Business Partner, Systems and colleagues within HR/Payroll as well as our ICT team is key. We are looking to develop our reporting capabilities within our Hireserve recruitment ATS system and hope to bring this system up to date in terms of developments we have yet to take advantage of, so you will be instrumental in supporting this. We also have an VT2000 (GenTech) system used for hourly paid employees and you will also be involved in learning how this system operates and assisting with queries and making changes to this in terms of user access rights and making changes to pay rates etc., as and when required.
We are a progressive operations team which comprises of an HR transactional team, a payroll team, a Business Partner, Systems and and People Information Officer. Our agreed team charter is based on: –
1. Teamwork , supporting each other, sharing knowledge and expertise to help our team grow
2. Quality and accuracy, getting things right first time, every time, and ensuring that work is checked to ensure that our quality and accuracy is not compromised.
3. Continuous improvement, striving for marginal gains, 1% better, better than it was yesterday knowing that by combining a multitude of marginal gains over an extended period will lead to more significant, noticeable improvements overall.
We are also in the early stages of exploring options to potentially move to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in October 2025 along with our Finance and Procurement teams and should this progress, we will hopefully be in a position to extend this contract further, although at this time this cannot be guaranteed.
If you feel that you have the skills and experience to be able to assist us at this time and you feel that you meet the requirements as specified in our job profile, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We work in a hybrid way and full-time members of staff are expected to work on campus in Southampton three days a week and can work from home for the other two days following an initial induction phased whereby you will initially be required to be on-site each day for the first few weeks.
