Mission
In situations of armed conflict, Geneva Call, as a neutral, impartial and independent international humanitarian organisation, endeavors to strengthen the respect of humanitarian norms and principles by armed non-State actors and de facto authorities, in order to improve the protection of civilians. Appel de Genève/Geneva Call is a private, not-for-profit, humanitarian organisation foundation under Swiss law, founded in 2000.
Role
Geneva Call has come through a phase of significant growth over the past four years and recruitment was and remains a main priority for the HR function.
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies by partnering with key stakeholders to meet current and future resourcing demands for the organization globally. The jobholder ensures compliance and operational excellence of the Talent Acquisition function – in the field and at HQ.
Generic Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Officer supports the recruitment process and participates in interviews.
- Crafts and updates job descriptions to accurately reflect role requirements, responsibilities and critical experiences, skills and competencies.
- Conducts internal and external talent searches, if needed, for assigned job requisitions; pro-active approach candidates who are currently not actively looking for roles.
- Builds relationships with universities.
- Joins HR recruitment networks in Geneva and the humanitarian sector as a whole.
- Participates in career fairs.
- Builds and enhances Geneva Call’s employer branding.
- Mentors the Talent Acquisition Officer and Field HR by establishing and promoting best practices and innovation for recruitment processes.
- Participates in special projects and ad hoc assignments, contributing to the team’s overall objectives.
- Plans and strategize future workforce needs, contributing to the development of recruitment strategies.
- Builds talent pipelines and assists in evaluating prospective talent.
- Designs training material and facilitates training to interview panel members. Coaches hiring managers.
- Accountable for the delivery of key performance indicators, such as response times, time-to-hire, candidate satisfaction, etc.
- Stays informed of external market trends and recruiting techniques. Builds ongoing external networks and future candidate slates.
- Builds diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into organizational processes and frameworks to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people.
Main qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience, managing high volume and full-lifecycle recruitment requests.
- Experience from working in a humanitarian / non-profit environment and a complex & volatile context is preferable.
- Previous agency or search firm experience, and experience in the private sector is relevant and will be considered.
- Proven ability to build up Talent Acquisition as a function and to innovate recruitment practices.
- Familiarity and experience in utilizing social media as a means by which to attract talent.
- Proven ability to influence internal clients & hiring teams on staffing-related decisions, providing a value-adding point of view relative to candidate consideration and organizational need.
- Displays a strong level of professional maturity.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Professional proficiency in English is required; other languages is a plus.
