About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for undertaking recruitment activities and providing administrative and technical support across the HR and Recruitment function. The HR and Recruitment function for the PLMSP project provides comprehensive support to talent acquisition and onboarding within complex environments in Australia and ten Pacific and Timor Leste countries.

This is a fixed term opportunity required till September 2028 with possibility of extension.

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate and manage recruitment activities with a focus on candidate experience and timely support to hiring managers.
  • Coordinate and manage the recruitment activities; advertisements, candidate screening, arranging interviews with hiring managers, providing support to interview panels where required, complete due diligence and provide regular updates to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Prepare contracts of employment in line with compliance needs of each point of hire (Australia, the Pacific and Timor Leste).
  • Ensure all HR and recruitment administrative processes are up to date, efficient and effective. Providing support to the HR team to administer and coordinate onboarding and inductions for new staff, including Palladium and DFAT mandatory compliance training and due diligence.
  • Support HR administration and general HR queries across the team including managing the timely actioning of staff queries the HR inbox.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee records, liaising with Palladium payroll and corporate departments as needed.

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Has Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as HR, Business or; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
  • Has 3+ years of relevant work experience in a HR/Recruitment Coordinator / Officer position, in a diverse and fast paced environment.
  • Has highly developed verbal and written communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of personnel from different disciplines.
  • Has experience working within a HR environment in a Pacific employment context, or with DFAT programs will beneficial.
  • Will operate with high levels of integrity, consistent with the intent of DFAT’s Ethics, Integrity and Professional Standards Policy Manual.
  • Has proven ability working in an agile, time sensitive environment while maintaining work quality.

  • Has personal initiative, drive and excellent interpersonal skills
