About the Role
You will coordinate OATL’s market access activities at the regional level, as directed by senior management. Main responsibilities include overseeing crop aggregation, ensuring quality control, and implementing operations based on market data and strategies provided by senior management. You will be asked to work with farmers— youth and women—to facilitate market access for crops, provide training, and support crop sales, ensuring understanding of our market access strategy and you will report to Market Access Lead.
Responsibilities
Understand Crops Value Chain Needs and Market Demand:
- Facilitate market assessments to understand demand for multiple crops and the challenges farmers face at the regional level.
- Collaborate with senior management to analyze market trends and identify crops aligned with market needs .
- Help identify profitable markets based on feasibility studies and return on investment in collaboration with senior management.
Coordination:
- Coordinate and implement market access activities within the assigned region, following the guidance and strategic direction provided by senior management.
Farmer Engagement and Training:
- Work with farmers, especially youth and women, to facilitate market access, provide training on best practices, and deliver financial literacy programs in collaboration with the Market Access Lead.
Crop Aggregation, Quality Control, and Infrastructure:
- Oversee crop aggregation and quality control, facilitate storage solutions to minimize post-harvest losses, and collaborate with logistics to ensure market delivery.
- Work with farmer groups or cooperatives to improve crop quality and streamline aggregation processes.
Support Crop Sales:
- Help support crop sales, including OATL’s purchases from farmers, ensuring market access opportunities align with our overall strategy.
- Supervise temporary data collectors in a specific region, ensuring accurate data collection and providing guidance:
- The supervisor will also facilitate quality control for both data and crops, ensuring that all standards are met throughout the process:

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
Educational Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Marketing, Business Administration, International Development, Social Sciences or related field.
Experience:
- At Least 1 year of experience in market access, agricultural value chain development, or related fields, preferably within the Experience in farmers’ support programs, agriculture value chains, or smallholder farmer engagement is essential.
- Experience working with or managingfarmer groups, cooperatives, or local market linkages.
