We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Director/Manager – Corporate to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role entails overseeing complex tax issues, managing ASC 740 processes, and ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and state income tax laws. The successful candidate will also be tasked with leading the tax provision processes, managing tax compliance, and assisting with audit defense and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage complex tax issues within a large corporate context.
• Lead and execute quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision processes, including worldwide consolidation.
• Ensure accurate tax account reconciliations, SEC disclosures, and maintain effective communication with external auditors.
• Utilize extensive knowledge of ASC 740 to handle U.S. quarterly and annual provisions, including tax basis balance sheet and return to provision analysis.
• Manage tax compliance process for U.S. federal and state income taxes, as well as franchise taxes, to ensure proper reporting to tax authorities.
• Assist in audit defense of federal and state tax returns.
• Provide planning, research, and project support as required.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives and team development.
• Efficiently utilize PC software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), tax preparation software, and tax research tools.

Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field
• Proficiency in Corporate Tax Compliance
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of ASC 740
• Experience with Annual Tax Provision
• Thorough understanding of Tax Law
• Proven track record as a Tax Director/Manager in a corporate environment
• Ability to manage and oversee all corporate tax operations
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree or certification (such as CPA) preferred
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
