With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:The Tax Compliance Specialist will assist all US State and Local tax affairs related to the Arcadis North America domestic business, which may include Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as the tax affairs of Arcadis US’ foreign operations. The focus of the role will be the US compliance of our operations, including filing federal, state, and local tax returns, responding to tax inquiries from tax authorities, assisting the business with one off tax issues. In addition, assist with the preparation of quarterly tax reporting for Arcadis US, Inc.Tax Specialist will report to the Tax Reporting Manager.Role accountabilities:

  • Maintain tax compliance calendar tracker, due dates, and extensions.
  • Preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers, including estimates, extensions, and state apportionment calculations.
  • Preparation of income tax provisions under IFRS 12-based tax reporting and accounting, including analysis of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, etc.
  • Assist as needed in providing information to accounting team related to tax reporting and tax accounting, including analysis of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, cash taxes, etc.
  • Partner with outside tax consultants on various projects, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with accounting, legal and other corporate departments (US and non-US) to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Research tax matters and provide support to the US and global tax team members.
  • Assist with tax controversies, audits and responding to notices
  • Support the Tax and Compliance Director with the preparation of the US tax compliance and preparation of the quarterly income tax provisions under IAS 12 (IFRS) based tax reporting and accounting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • The candidate should have 5 to 8 years related tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field).
  • Experience with federal and state income tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting and reporting under IFRS or US GAAP.
  • Experience as tax advisor.
