You will be teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a challenging and knowledge-rich curriculum based on the AQA specification. You’ll work within a forward-thinking Humanities Faculty, supported by a dedicated Subject Lead for History and a collaborative team who share a deep commitment to excellence in the humanities.About the schoolThe school is a richly diverse area with a proud community identifying ideal context to bring local history to life and inspire students to explore how the past informs their present and future. • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Strong knowledge of the AQA GCSE specification is highly desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

• Excellent subject knowledge of History
• Ability to differentiate for a range of abilities
• Skilled in using assessment to inform planning
• Passion for fostering enquiry and curiosity
• Creative, engaging lesson planning
• Strong communication with staff, students and parents

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan and teach in line with the department’s schemes of work
• Use formative and summative assessment to track student progress
• Provide written and verbal feedback that helps students improve
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Monitor student progress and intervene when needed
• Promote a love of History and academic curiosity
• Organise or support educational visits and historical workshops
• Support literacy development through extended texts and historical vocabulary
• Promote diversity through inclusive representation in curriculum materials
