Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Science with a specialism in Chemistry? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our high-achieving Science department in an independent boys’ school in Hammersmith. We have state-of-the-art laboratories and access to the latest technology and resources to support students’ learning and exploration of science.About the Role:
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on Chemistry at Key Stage 4 and potentially A Level.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and technology, to bring Chemistry to life for students.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Chemistry curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of Chemistry in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the chemical world and develop their scientific understanding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Chemistry education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Chemistry and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Chemistry and relevant examination specifications.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
