Job Category: AcademicJob Description:We are looking for a Teaching and Research Fellow in Latin American History to join the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.The Opportunity:There is an opportunity to join the History department of the School of History, Classics and Archaeology as a fixed-term Teaching and Research Fellow in Latin American History. The role requires expertise in any aspect of modern Latin American History. The successful candidate will teach courses at the honours level and will contribute to team teaching across all levels of the curriculum, including pre-honours, honours and MSc level courses, as appropriate. The successful candidate will also conduct research under their own direction.This role is fixed-term for 10 months (01/09/2025-30/06/2026) and full-time (35 hours per week).   • A PhD submitted in Latin American History.
  • Evidence of expertise in teaching Latin American History at university level.
  • Ability to teach Edinburgh University’s existing honours course Resistance, Resilience and Rebellion in Colonial Latin America.
  • Ability to produce internationally excellent research.
  • Demonstrable commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education.
