Strood Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Apprentice) who will assist in the support and inclusion of SEN and EAL pupils within the school. Working within a class, our successful candidates will join a well-established team of Teaching Assistants who provide appropriate one-to-one support for an individual pupil, or a small group of pupils within class of any ability and in any curriculum area. Applicants should be adaptable, personable and committed to providing an excellent service on behalf of the school and wider Trust, and above all else our appointed candidate will have a positive work ethic and can-do attitude.The basis of the role is fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship (12-18 months approximately), 37 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks inset. Our successful candidates will work towards a nationally-recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, delivered by LAT Apprenticeships.Apprenticeship SummaryAnnual wage: Actual salary £12,003 per annum (Apprenticeship salary FTE £13,725)Working weeks: Monday – Friday, Term Time + 2-week insetTotal hours per week: 37 (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship) – start and finish times to be agreedApprenticeship duration: 18 months approx.Anticipated start date: October 2024Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)Apprenticeship standard: Teaching AssistantEssential entry qualifications: GCSEs A* – C, Maths and English (desirable)Future prospects: This apprenticeship could be the start of a very promising career within the wider teaching support remit.
