Strood Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Apprentice) who will assist in the support and inclusion of SEN and EAL pupils within the school. Working within a class, our successful candidates will join a well-established team of Teaching Assistants who provide appropriate one-to-one support for an individual pupil, or a small group of pupils within class of any ability and in any curriculum area. Applicants should be adaptable, personable and committed to providing an excellent service on behalf of the school and wider Trust, and above all else our appointed candidate will have a positive work ethic and can-do attitude.The basis of the role is fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship (12-18 months approximately), 37 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks inset. • Centralised behaviour system and detentions – simple for teachers to follow allowing disruptive free classrooms.
• Our commitment to the development of all staff – CPD on Wednesday afternoons and the opportunity to collaborate with staff from other schools in the LAT. Also all staff at Strood receive regular coaching feedback through our on-line platform on-track.
