Through the launch of the University’s new Centre of Excellence for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Modelling (DAIM), we are responding to the increasing need for qualified practitioners by delivering a step-change in the provision of educational excellence – and high-quality research – which cut across traditional disciplinary departmental and faculty boundaries.
THE ROLE
We are significantly investing and contributing to the AI world of today and tomorrow – and this investment brings a fantastic opportunity for a Laboratory Teaching Fellow to join us at the Centre of Excellence on a permanent basis. The post holder will contribute to both practical and technical skills elements supporting the effective running of the DAIM building and computational laboratories; and delivery of the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, along with other courses as required. In addition, the post holder will also play an important part in supporting and supervising students with their MSc research projects.Afterall, you’ll be educating the next generation of data scientists and artificial intelligence practitioners, responding to the increasing need in this field, and conducting high quality research which cuts across traditional disciplinary departmental and faculty boundaries.
Ideally you will hold a good degree, and a Masters or equivalent, with experience in teaching and research in at least one aspect of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence. However, we also recognise the value that significant and relevant work experience can bring to an individual’s skillset. All applicants should have Python Programming skills. To be successful in this role, you will posses excellence communication skills and have the ability to engage, motivate and support students, thus having a positive impact on student experience.
