Location: University of Warwick Campus, CoventryAbout the RoleFor informal enquiries, please contact Juanita Elias at .The Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) invites applications for a permanent Teaching Fellowship from 1 September 2024 with a teaching focus on UK Politics and Policy.We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational teacher who takes pride in their work. The successful candidate will be required to undertake teaching duties in UK politics and policy, broadly defined. They will have the ability and willingness to act as Module Director and teach on UG and PGT level modules including modules such as PO102 Political Research in the 21st Century, PO206 Politics in the UK, and PO2D0 Public Policy for 21st Century Challenges. They will also supervise dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department recognises the importance of research to teaching practice and the successful applicant will be supported to develop their research profile within the framework of the role.About YouYou will possess an honours degree or equivalent, and a PhD or equivalent (awarded or near completion) in a relevant discipline. You will have a commitment to the use and development of further innovative teaching methods and e-learning techniques within the classroom and to valuing diversity in, and promoting an inclusive approach to, teaching. In addition, you will have a proven commitment to and/or lived experience of addressing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues in the workplace, as well as passion for decolonising the curriculum and teaching practices. An active commitment to anti-racist and/or alternative critical pedagogies is highly desirable.You will contribute to the Department’s research and teaching profile, assist in the development of new modules and programmes, have a role within the Department’s Student Experience and Progression team, and contribute to devising overall departmental teaching strategy. You will be willing to work with the Department’s Political Theory research cluster and throughout, you will be supported by our departmental mentoring scheme. As a permanent Teaching Fellow in PAIS you will be eligible for departmental research funds, to apply for study leave, and have opportunities for promotion through our teaching-focussed track.
